Default Couple Q?

Hey guy's I just picked up another 92 civic hb.Looks good besides it need a core support are they hard to put in a new one?.Also needs motor and tranny,so question #2 What's a good overall motor to put in the civic for good price and easy bought upgrades.I like to go junkyard serching alot for wrecked car's with good drivetrain.Let me know what you guys think about my new toy

You can get a replacement core support and weld it in. A D16Z6 would be an easy engine to swap in and it has a lot of aftermarket support.

I'm not really sure on the core support, but for the engine:

what are your goals? Do you plan on boosting, or keeping it N/A? What's your budget?

maybe turbo it later on but right now I got a lead on a d16z6 with a vtec y8 head si Tranny axle whole complete swap

^ an si transmission bolted to a d-series motor? Either the guy is full of s**t or it's a canadian si (an ex here in the states)... but more than likely he's just plain full of s**t.

You can't bolt a B/K-series transmission (the us 99/00 si came with a b16a2 engine, and the newer si's have k-series motors) to a d-series block. It just doesn't work.

But a d16z6 is a great motor for boost (not to mention if you blow the motor, who cares? they're a dime a dozen)

Could the guy be talking about a 92-95 Si tranny (even though it's the same as the EX) and just highlighting that it's from an Si just to make people think it's better?
