coolant reservoir

Question coolant reservoir

hello civic forum

i have a 1990 honda civic si and my coolant reservoir doesnt refill my radiator, i have put in a new rad, replaced the top and bottom rad hoses, put a new thermostat in and it still wouldnt refill my rad. i tried taking off the reservoir hose and blowing in it and there is no clog or anything in it..... it would be great if you could help me out. thnx

Replace the radiator cap. The rubber seal in the top of the cap, which seals to the top of the radiator neck, is important.

Also check for any cracks or air leaks in the hose or connections between the radiator and reservoir (including the hose inside the reservoir). The system depends on siphon action to return coolant to the radiator and any air leak will spoil it.
