I have never used a radiator leak stop stuff. But if I was you, I would leave the car as it is for now, since it is working. If I have the same problem down the road, I will fix it correctly with fresh gasket and coolant after good flushing of the system. Or, sell the car now.

Heater doesn't work well or at all if the engine is not full of coolant.

Get the cooling system completely full, then start the engine (cold) with the radiator cap off and rev it up. If you see steady bubbling in the radiator, bad head gasket.
I have had same prob w/ 01 civic.Had the head redone by shop, new head gasket and had same problem again.Sent head to shop again they re-milled it and said to buy better premium gasket.I suspected it was coming from thermostat housing, purchased another used one and that's not the prob.
Still has same problem!!!!!
Could it be the block is warped or cracked? HELP!!!!!!

If you drove the car when the motor was overheating you could have warped the block.

How did you clean the top of the block where the HG mates to the head? Both surfaces need to be super clean.

Have you had the radiator tested for leaks?

New radiator new everything! mating surfaces were clean. There are fine scratches(not gouges) on the block surface. How do I check block for warpage?
