I have a cold air intake on my del sol and its very loud, annoying loud. it sounds like a power steering pump is dry. i checked everything else making sure it wasnt anything else. any idea?

That's why the stock intake is so complicated, it's mostly a noise muffler. Aftermarket unrestricted intakes make your car louder, some people like that.

O ok ya that makes sense. So its just a thing it dose. Its like 3 1/2 pipe and making it smaller diamiter will not change it? I dont mean micro but about the same size as the throttle body intake diamiter

Are you sure its the intake? Most intakes arent loud enought to be annoying, if anything you only hear them in a low gear when you accelerate fast. Try opening the hood and turning on the car and revving the engine. See if the noise gets louder.

Ya i have done that and when i had to replace the throttle body and i didnt have the air filter on i put my hand over it and it dampened the the sound alot. i asked one of my friends to listen to it and he put his ear right on the air filter and he said that it is your intake.
