civic makes a loud bang and then poof cant catch any gears?? anyone have any opinions

Question question for 97 EX civic

so im at a stop light making a right turn, i proceed to turn but as soon as im about to let go of the clutch i hear a bang, somewhat like a gun shot and i lose my gears,and a grinding like noise into play, the engine is still running but it wont catch any of the gears....

FFFFFLLLYYY wheel

Check it out on you tube that **** is what grabs and holds the clutch while you `shift` the gear over time it wears down just like a break pad and needs to be replaced

Humm...lol maybe its the other way around. !

Check if the speedometer goes up when you put it in gear. If it does then the transmission is working OK but you have an axle problem, e.g. CV joint broken or axle popped out of the transmission. If the speedometer stays at zero then the problem is before the transmission (the clutch) or inside it, or the linkage to the shift lever.
