Question civic 97 tuning questions

hey everyone...

Well I'm in love with my civic 97 she has 188k on it and she runs great
but I want to tune her up little better.. I want to know what small performance tune i can do to the car help her performance better
so far have done change air filter and replace oil with castrol high mileage

I've notice I may need to change my spark plugs...
brand of spark matters? if so which one is recommend and performance spark will it make different ? can this be done on your own or I gotta pay arm and leg at repair shop... I rather do my self learning experience so far have done few repair on my own with the previous car but no major repairs.

and how do you clean inside of engine bay? drives me nut look dirty and rusty some area in there...

and the brakes what can be done make look new and clean again? like get rid of rust so on... I gotta check my pads wear level...

I'm not look into modding my car into drag race just small affordable performance on the car and help last longer....
oh yea where can find different color led to replace boring interior lighting so on..

thank you for your time..

Congrats on your 97 civic!

Some answers:

Spark plugs, we normally recommend NGK plugs; pretty cheap and oem, I think. Very easy to do. You need to get a spark plug socket but aside from that very easy to do.
