Default Check Gas Cap

Filled tank about 5 days ago in my 06 Civic, am getting a Check Gas Cap light on dash. I have removed the cap and put it back on making sure it clicked. Will this flashing message disappear at some point or is servicing required.

Check the rubber seal on the cap. If it's cracked, replace the cap.

to reset the code youll have to either unplug a wire on the battery or find the memory fuse and unplug the fuse for ruffly 30seconds this should reset the computer. tho it will not run perfect when you first start it up since the computer has to relearn the motor readings so dont worry....

The gas cap code should clear itself once the problem is resolved. Disconnecting the battery resets a bunch of other stuff and introduces some potential problems. If you do decide to disconnect it, just to be clear it is to be done only with the engine stopped and the key OFF.

dito.... ive never had any problems other than a ruff idle for the first start up or two. then the computer learned the motor again and still runs perfect.
