changing spark plugs - problem

Double checked, I was mistaken, both sockets are listed as 3/8" Spark Plug sockets, and then have the sizes listed above in TheJGB3's post.

I have noticed on some sets that are for more heavy duty work that the sockets themselves are thicker. So yeah it could be the correct size but the total diameter of the socket might be too big to fit all the way down to the plug

A 5/8" socket is what's needed, but it must be a thin walled socket to work.

Sometimes the rubber liner in the socket gets partially pulled out making the socket too tight of a fit, other times it gets left behind on the spark plug after you've tightened down the new one making it seem like your socket is much too small.
