what you really need to do is go pick up a haynes manual at your local automotive store for $20 and it shows pics and step by step on how to do it, it looked pretty basic to me tho, im pretty sure you need to drop a section of the exhust, then just bolt off the oil pan

exhaust stuff is tricky when putting it together.
get it up to the manifold, just onto it, and put all the other nuts and bolts on. then go back to the connection at the exhaust manifold and tighten it.

Tips:

Don't forget to buy a new gasket.
Don't forget to check whether or not the oil pan bolts have a torque spec or if they just need to be on PFT.

good point.
pretty sure they have a torque spec and a sequence spec - least there is for my '88.
