CD Player installation

CD Player installation
I was trying to install a cd player into my girlfriends car and I got an installation guide off the internet. The problem is that when I was hooking up the wires, I have 3 wires that are not listed anywhere or could even be connected anywhere to the cd player. Also, I have the battery constant connected and the ground connected, but it still wont turn on. I checked the fuse and its fine. so I have no idea what to do next or if the cd player is just screwed up.

RE: CD Player installation
Hopefully you used a harness adapter, then for most CD players that follow the standard color code, it's just a matter of connecting like colored wires together, then remove the stock stereo and plug in the new one. There are usually some extra wires for things like illumination and power antenna. If your setup doesn't support those features, simply leave the extra wires unconnected and tape them up so they can't short out to anything.
The battery constant (yellow wire) and ignition (red wire) must both be energized for the unit to come on.
You can check the player out of the car by connecting its battery and ignition wires to the (+) terminal of a car battery, and the ground to the (-).

just like MK378 said most of the wire is color coded so just match the color up with some male/female connector ( or some sort of connector).and u should be fine. i think i have 4 wire tht i didnt use on mine.

RE: CD Player installation
There is a certain no-name player sold for $89.99 at Wal-Mart and Target that has what appears to be standard colored wires but they are completely mixed up on function. So always double-check with the manual or the label on top of the player.
