cat evap o2s not ready

Yep, the damaged wire sounds like the source of your problem. Be sure to disconnect the battery prior to initiating any wire repairs. Also make sure that fuse 47 is 7.5A. The 96-00 Civic service manual at the link in my signature has all of the circuit diagrams you will need (see chapters 23 and 25). As you mention, you may need to run a new replacement wire and remove the damaged one. Good luck with the repairs and take your time.

okay i changed the wire out, now i took it for a ride and i'm getting a pre-code p0171, with means i'm too lean at bank #1, witch could be a lot of things, but it still says cat not ready, o2 not ready, and evap not ready, my question is since i threw a code didn't the ecu run through a drive cycle, so should the cat, 02, and evap say ready? or not? just kinda confused, i guess i'm trying to see if my ecu is bad or good before i start replacing more parts, and help would be great

Does the blower motor still run continuously with fuse 47 installed and with the ignition key turned OFF? If so, I now think that you may have a short in the heater control panel, the circuit of which is also protected by fuse 47. My guess is the melted Wht/Blu wire went to the heater control panel, which is still causing problems. Disconnect this wire to test whether the ECU "not ready" problem ceases. If so, you may need to replace the heater control panel on the dash.

no replacing that wire fixed the heater problem it does not stay on now with the key in the off position

well this am i went to take it for a drive and my battery was drained again but the heater doesn't stay on now so something else must be staying on the ecu couldn't be draining my battery down it was just one night, i guess i'm gonna try to replace the fuse box nothing else stays on that i can see though

Your battery or its connections may be causing the problem. Carefully clean the battery terminals, connectors, as well as the ground wire connection, with steel wool. Secure them tightly. Also have the battery charged at your local auto parts store. If the battery still fails, you may need to replace it.
