Car Wont Start
i have a 98 civic ex and it doesnt seem to want to start anymore. When I try to start the car it makes the winding up sound, but does not seem to want to start. im not really sure how to explain it but its sorta like when u start up a car regularly, everything seems right and sounds right but it just wont start. can anybody help me find the solution?

RE: Car Wont Start
Did you reattach the spark plug wires in the proper order? Check whether any fuses are blown in the under-hood and -dash fuse boxes.
When you turn the key to ON without cranking the engine, do you hear the low humming sound of the fuel pump priming for a couple of seconds? If so, check for spark. Remove a plug wire and insert a good plug in the end of the wire. Have a buddy crank the engine while you ground the plug threads against a convenient metallic engine part. You should see a bright spark at the tip. Repeat for each plug wire. If you lack spark, you might have a bad coil or igniter unit in the distributor or a snapped timing belt.
If the fuel pump is priming and there is spark, check whether the timing belt slipped a few teeth.

You might want first to check whether the timing belt snapped. Pull the distributor cap off and have a buddy crank the engine. If the rotor doesn't spin, then the timing belt may have snapped.
