Question Car Jerk at take off

91 Civic Hatchback 1.5 (D 15b1) 4 speed

I can't get it to take off with out jerking. The only way is to get the RPM way to high and drag the clutch very slow. After it take off, it run fine.

What couse this? The pressure plate?
The release bearing?
The Clutch disc?
Any help will be appresiated. Thanks

Usually this is some issue with the clutch disk, either oil on the friction lining (strangely, oil on a clutch makes it grab) or broken springs. Do you have oil leaking out of the clutch area?

Before 1992, most Civics did not have hydraulic clutches. The clutch cable is adjustable. It should release when you push the pedal down about halfway. If it is releasing right at the top or bottom, adjusting the cable might make the car easier to drive.

On a Toyota I had once there was a small crack in the air inlet plenum. The engine would rock slightly on the motor mounts on acceleration, open the crack just a little, allow unmetered air into the system, and cause a bucking. When the accelerator was released the engine would settle and idle perfectly. Pull on your plenums with the engine running and see if you can detect a crack or change in pitch. Just a thought, hope it helps.

Older Civics do not have an air flow meter; the engine performance will not be affected by leaks in the intake system before the throttle plate.

Also consider if the motor mounts are bad it will be hard to make a smooth takeoff from a stop.
