Car idles fine, but from pullout to 3000 rpms it misses
My car idles fine, and revs fine, but when i pull out it misses from 1,500 rpms to 3,000 rpms and then is 100 percent fine and runs well, no C E L or anything....can anyone help???

The TPS sensor tells the computer when to advance the timing (when you push the throttle down). If there was a problem with the TPS sensor, it wouldn't advance the timing and you could have misfire problems. I would hook up a scan tool to the car and let it misfire. Watch the TPS and ignition timing outputs. If the TPS doesn't change and the timing also doesn't change than your TPS is prolly malfunctioning.

It could be your distributor rotor and cap. My car idled fine, reved fine but sometimes would miss in lower rpms. Come to find out my rotor was completely rusted and my cap had corrosion on it. Look into it.

Well, i checked the iacv, tps, and map sensor, the plugs wires dizzy cap and rotor and there all fine.....it seems as it does it more when its punched than if im nice and easy on the gas.....i got a cel light on too, it was a cylinder 4 misfire and a p1399 which is a manufacturers code for ignition circuit.....im starting to think it may be the ignition timing, or the ignitor, or the whole distributor itself.....any ideas???

Your best shot is prolly gonna be the distributor. It really won't be the ignitor b/c there is one ignitor for all 4 cylinders (you only have one cylinder going out). Same thing with the timing. The distributor sends spark to each cylinder so that might be the problem. You have an OBD II car so it shouldn't be too hard to get a scan tool and check the live data. Check and see what is happening to the timing when you hit the gas. How did u check the sensors?

the tps i had checked by my friend whos a mechanic with a multimeter and the map and iacv i had new ones put on with the motor....but the map and the iacv wouldnt necessarily cause just a single cylinder misfire so i outruled them.....now the other question i have is that the distributor that was on the motor i got had a different plug than mine off my original motor.....im guessing theres no way to swap them, and if there is it would be cutting and splicing which i dont want to mess with right????

You should test the sensors with a scan tool to be absolutly sure. You have to find out what the wires on the original harness do and which wires match up with it on the new plug.

with a dist at 206 thous - whoa , that a lot.
i had a miss with mine, not a idle but it did not go away at a higher speed (never noted the rpm's) and just kept driving. finally ended with no spark and could not determine the part (1988 civic with 170,000).
replaced the entire distributor. problem solved.
and to answer your question, no - i would not go into the wiring "thing".
