Exclamation Car alarm trouble!

Hello y'all

This is my first time posting on the forum, but I've been having some trouble with my car so I was hoping you could help!

So I wanted to head back home for Spring Break tomorrow, but last night I tried getting into my car ('96 EX) and the alarm suddenly decides to go off when I try to open the door. I've had this car for 5 years and I didn't even know I had a security system.

Same thing happens when I try to turn the engine on, alarm just keeps going bonkers and the engine won't rev. I popped the hood and disconnected the battery to stop the alarm from going off, my father told me it might get fixed if I just left it disconnected for a bit and reconnected it later. No dice.

I was told to look for a valet button for the alarm, but honestly I couldn't find anything. Perhaps I'm missing it (you can check the photos at the bottom to see if I am), but I took apart the dashboard even and couldn't find anything. There was a red blinking light inside the car, but it didn't push in or anything.

I did, however, find a little black box (the one in the picture) in the underbelly of the dash (nearer the pedals). It has "Code Alarm Elite DM 1500" so, y'know, I figure this is the culprit. I couldn't find any way to disable it, so I just took out all the wires that were connected to it. Now, the car won't make a sound and the siren won't beep, but the engine still won't rev. Lights turn on and everything though so I figure the battery is okay (?).

I've not really been sure what to do since then. So now I come to you. Any of the more vehicularly adept folks out there able to help me?

Here are some photos, maybe they'll help. I'm not sure how many of them will be useful, but I took a bunch just in case. I'll take more if it could help.
