I have a 2010 Civic EX with 14,000 and around the end of May the a/c wouldn't get cool. I took it to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong, but when I got back in the car the a/c was cold. It was cool for a couple weeks and I have the problem again. I took it again today and again they said they couldn't find anything wrong. They said they would keep it over the weekend and check it out. Sometimes it gets a cool spurt but most of the time it's just a tad cooler than with the windows down. Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong?

 

My guess is a blend door not working correctly. Possible leak. Most likely something simple since it is a new car. But will a dealership figure out is the bigger question.

 

When it is not cooling, park the car-- leave the engine running and the A/C button pressed-- open the hood and note if the compressor is engaged (plate on the end spinning) and the condenser fans are running.

 

daisy, you need to bring the car in running while the a/c is not cool so that the dealers can see it and try to figure it out. obviously at startup it is cooling properly which is why they don't see a problem. You need to find out when it starts going hotter than it should be and then re-create the same conditions for the dealer or as I said earlier, to bring it in when the a/c is not cold.
