A/C Charging from empty
I just replaced my Evaporator on my 94 civic si, I don't have a vacuum pump, my question is, in order to get the air our of the system; can I hook up a can on the low pressure side and open up the high side and vent til I see 134a coming out and then close the high side and charge the low side up to pressure? Is this a feasible way to charge from zero pressure?

That method is illegal and (more importantly) not very effective. There are two paths from the low side to the high side and because of the restriction of the TXV, most of your purge will take the easy path through the compressor and condenser and leave the evaporator and receiver-drier full of air.
You really need a vacuum pump. Some parts stores let you borrow or rent them.

I'm reading everywhere if you charge with air in there it turns to an acid and will eventually eat your system up, so I found that Autozone rents them for 109.00 I imagine that if the acidic transformation is true, then it will be worth letting them borrow 109 for a few minutes
