Bunnyhopping on lower gears
Heya
Not my car, but my mothers...
Noticed when I've been in her car (manual) that the car has issues taking off in 1st and even changing into 2nd. She's driving like a learner, bunnyhoppying and completely un-smooth transition between gears. Figure it's gear box or clutch related.
Shes been driving for years, so it's not her, it's also gotten worse over the past months.
What would be the cause, what should I look for and is there anything I can do to correct the issue myself (car noob, but with HCF's assistance capable of a few prior repairs)?
Cheers in advace.

Broken springs in the clutch disk, or oil on the clutch lining will do this. Either way, a clutch job is in order. If you find oil, replace the seal that is leaking. Many people just live with it until the clutch is worn out and really needs to be replaced.
