Broken muffler? Need advice...
I was backing into a tight space today and went a little too far and caught the exhaust port of my muffler on the cement block. It knocked the muffler off the hanging rubber mounts, but when I looked under the car to try and hang it back up, it looks like the muffler piping must have bent slightly back somewhere along the line as the mount points on the pipe are 2 inches or so behind the hanging mounts. I tried pulling a little but it wouldn't slide back easily and the mounts further up towards the middle of the car are loose too.
I managed to hang the back temporarily with some zip ties so the muffler doesn't rub on anything, but I need to get it fixed soon. I'm hoping it's as simple as bending it back, but I don't have the tools or a lift to really get at it, so I'm taking it to a local body shop tomorrow to have them take a look.
In the case that I need new piping, I don't really want to upgrade my exhaust system as the stock one works fine for me. What kind of parts and pricing will I be looking at?
If replacing the whole exhaust system is necessary, what's a decent system in a similar price range as the stock system?
