Sometimes the bolts that the caliper slides on bind when the grease dries up, and this can cause the pads to "stick" against the rotor and possibly make some noise. Try undoing one of the small caliper bolts and see if you can swing the caliper up away from the disc easily. If you can't, take the other bolt out as well and lube up the part of the bolt that doesn't have threads on it with some silicone grease. Do this for both bolts.

the calipers do swing away alright. I used a bunch or brake cleaner and painted my calipers in the process. I drove it today and had no problems, but I'll post again if it does.
