BRAKE HARD LINE COMPRESSION FITTING BROKE!
Have 1991 honda crx dx. hard line leading to left rear brake has compression fitting that attatches to brake hose. Fitting snaped hard line in two when tried to remove.
Bought car and had no brakes I guess it was allready broke and i finished it. Looks like he tried to put new hose on and didnt know what he was doing.
Is it possible to repair with out running all new line? Looks like it wouldnt be fun.
only lost 1/4 " of line.

RE: BRAKE HARD LINE COMPRESSION FITTING BROKE!
Those are flare fittings, not compression. To redo the end, buy a new nut and obtain use of a flaring tool.
If the line is badly rusted, replace the whole line. You can buy it pre-bent from a dealer but if it is the long one that goes all the way to the front of the car it might cost a lot. You can also buy straight lines from a parts store and bend it yourself, using a bending tool of course.
If you end up splicing the line, do it right with flare fittings not the cheesy compression ones.

These should be "double flared." That means the metal flares out, then folds over and flares back in so the flared part is double thickness. Parts stores will have what you need for a stock setup. It would seem that braided hoses would have the same fittings but I don't know.
