Blowin smoke
I just bought my first honda a few days ago. I love the look of it! 92 civic 1500s hatch? It has the 1.5 in it. At low rpms- like neutral to first... It tries to stall and runs rough at idle... Takes forever to pick up speed! If I give it gas in neutral it looks like im doin a sweet burn out lol. Any ideas will help thanks! p.s. It has 230k on it. :/

And why did you buy this car? I'd have handed back the keys and said "no thanks!"
Does it have an EGR valve. If so, it may need cleaning or replacing. Also check for vacuum hose leaks. Use fuel injector cleaner spray to check the intake manifold gasket.
If your catalytic converter has lots of miles on it, it could need replacing.

Sprayed starter fluid around the intake and throttle body nothing happened... I removed the oil cap and oil was kinda shootin out and there was alot of "puttin" ... Like air was coming out of the hole. If I tap the gas like three times fast the car dies.

I think my car is a 92... Made in canada on 10/91. I got a rotor button and dist cap for a 92. But it qas different. It took the 91 model. And theres a "1500s" badge on the passenger side hatch. Everywhere I look I dont find a 91/92 1500s only 82-85s and I also have 4wheel disk brakes.. Autozone doesnt sell rotors or calipers for the rear on a 91

This is a sign of worn piston rings. Again, cylinder compression and leak down tests are the place to start.

You can tell the model year from the VIN I forget exactly how but its simple-- one digit encodes the year as a letter code on every car sold in the US. If the hood is original the emissions sticker on the underside of the hood says the model year. The standard base model 1992-1995s were 1.5 liter non VTEC, D15B7, look for the code on the engine block on the front where it meets the transmission. Your rear disk brakes may not be stock Civic, it was popular to swap them off of an Accura. And it seems that the engine is worn out especially the rings.
