Default Blower only works on #3 & #4

The blower in my 91 Civic DX Hatch only blows on the highest 2 settings. They work consistently but only on setting #3 & #4, not #1 & #2. The fuse looks fine. I just bought it and the owner said a friend of hers swapped out the "heater something or other(thanks for the details lady) when hers went out". Maybe it wasn't the right model "something or other" for my car? Maybe its the switch? Any other ideas?

a blower is "slang" for a supercharger btw. you mean your heater or AC?

Your blower motor resistor is bad. Technically there are several resistors, but what you buy is called the blower motor resistor. Each fan speed has a different resistance associated with it. Full speed should always work because there is no resistor on that setting, as far as Honda is concerned. Easy to replace and usually you just have to remove the glove box to get to it.

theres a little module with a spring looking thing in it on top of the heater box. replace that. let me find a pic for you. its on top of the blower motor surround IIRC.
theres only 2 phillips head screws holding it in.

^The spring looking thing is the blower motor resistor.

It was the blower motor resistor. Thanks guys. You made it a cheap and easy fix. Did it in 10 minutes.
