Cool Blower Fan Switch

Good day folks. I had an issue with my 97 Civic blower fan switch working intermittently. One day it would not work and another day it would. None of the speeds worked so I thought it was the fan switch. After replacing it, the issue came back on the next day. What would you recommend I test next so that I may have heat and a defroster before the winter gets here? Any suggestion would be most appreciated. I have found some useful information on this site and hope you folks could help me again. Thank you in advance and take care.

A relay maybe? Or a loose fuse or ground? I've never actually looked at the wiring so I'm not sure but look for a wiring schematic and see what the fan depends on

I would check on power supply to the system and ground for intermittent operation. Shake wire harness in the area while the system is on.

Also, if you could isolate the motor from the rest of the system and hot wire it to see it works every time you make connection.

I don't know if the blower fan system has a relay. I need to see the wiring diagram for the car.

When it is not working but supposed to be (switch on high and key on) measure voltage across the blower motor with the plug still plugged in. If you have 12 volts at the motor but it is not running, motor is bad.

There is a fuse and relay under the hood.

I just checked the wiring diagram and sure enough there is a relay.

Since it is located under the hood, easy to gain access. You could jump the relay and see it makes fan operation 100% of the times.
