Bent A/C tensioner pulley 2000 DX Hatch
2000 Civic DX Hatchback
I just bought this car and LOVE it but I quickly discovered that the A/C was in-op. After checking it out, I noticed that the A/C belt was missing and the drive and tensioner pulleys were pretty rusty; This car has not had A/C for some time. I suspect that the belt is missing because of failure caused by premature wear. The tensioner pulley is slightly cocked and this would make for a harsh turn on the belt.
Before I replace this sucker, is anyone familiar with these tensioner pulleys?
are they horizontally adjustable; is mine just out of alignment? (This seems like a bit of a stretch)
I was told that the bearing was bad, but then why isn't the pulley jolty and loose? It turns nicely but at a slight angle.
Help me please?
