Default Belts aren't spinning...

I had to change my alternator. When I went to start my car, it fired right up, but I heard an odd noise, sounded like things were spinning but the belts were too loose. I made sure the alternator belt was tight and also the air conditioner belt is tight. I can't find a belt diagram so I am not sure what to check for. Seems like one belt is slightly loose, the one closest to driver side tire. I started the car again and the car shut right off on me after about a second and a half.
How can I tighten all the belts (adiagram would be great)
and why would the car shut off on me right after starting??? (motor is fine, just dropped in d15b vtecwith low miles)

Thanks in advance.

Any ideas?

It seems as though one belt is slightly loose and its affecting everything else. When I last started the car the alternator belt / pulley started going, but the car shut off on me quickly. How can I tighten the powersteering belt (i think)... the one thats closest to driver side tire.

Does it not start or stay running now? Loose power steering belt will not cause it to cut off. I think you move the power steering pump to tighten the belt. Power steering is the device on the top front of the engine, bottom front is the A/C, and of course the alternator is on the back side of the engine.

Well, after it shut off, I didn't' attempt to start it again. I started it twice before that happened and it ran until I shut it off (maybe 10 seconds each time) Saw the belts weren't moving and heard a noise like the pulleys were spinning but not catching the belts. Will try and start it again after trying to tighten the power steering pump's belt.

Just odd that the other belt(s) came loose when allI did was change the alternator. Had to pull the master brake cylinder to do it... but nothing with any other belts.

Anyone have a diagram of the belts? Service manual doesn't do much justice and I lost my haynes manual.

good rule of thumb is to tighten the belts until you can twist them 90 degrees either way and no more.
