Default Battery being drained.

I have a 1991 Honda civic hatchback. I recently hooked my amp to power my subwoofers up directly to my battery and it has drained it 2 times now. I finally unhooked it. Does anyone know where else I could connect the power wire so it will cut off when my car does instead of staying connected directly to the battery. Any help is appreciated.

I would think that posting this in the interior DIY subforum would get better responses. Regardless, you have to connect it through a switch that turns power off or else you will constantly be having to deal with a dead battery. There must be a standard switch that people who do stereo upgrades use.

You need to connect the amp's "remote" wire to the head unit's "amp power on" wire, which is usually blue and white. If you don't have such a wire from the head unit, connect the amp's remote wire to the ignition circuit (red wire at the head unit). That will make the amp power down when you turn the key off.
