back up camera/3rd brake leds
whats up all. i have a 95 civic. ive already installed a second lcd and i would like to install my camera inside the 3rd brake light area. i am considering installing an led on either side(left and right)so i can mount the camera in the middle where th original bulb was. has anyone done this before? im not sure if the 12 volt leds can both run from the single wires of the old lamp or will i need to add more wiring. any help or suggestions would be great. eventually ill post pics and a diy if i end up doing it.
thanks

RE: back up camera/3rd brake leds
You can run lots of LEDs off of the brake light wire. When you have a LED circuit set up for 12 volts, just connect those circuits in parallel to the stock wiring.
If it's a coupe, you will have a huge blind spot mounting the camera there though. It won't be able to see what's right behind the car because of the trunk.

ya your idea.... has flaws.... ALWAYS mount the camera on the back of the car! if you mount it around the rear window you will not see whats behind you and well.... isnt that what you are trying to see
if you havent bought the camera yet i would HIGHLY ADVICE looking into one of these liscence plate camera..... it just mounts around liscence plate like a regular trim cover for them..... some are wireless and some need wired. id prefer a wired ones.....
but with camera they are just like monitors.... you get what you pay for on quality.....
those liscence plate ones i think are pretty cheap so if you want a GOOD PICTURE.... then look into some better 12V camera and mount it where the dirrect sun will not hit the camera... if it does the camera will be pretty much useless as the screen will just turn white/yellow.LOL
