Alternator problem or something else?

Alternator problem or something else?
Hi guys,
Thanks in advance for any help or info.
The car is a 1998 Civic EX.
This is what happened:
My battery power was getting low, and I was able to tell because of the way the car sounded when I was starting it. I had to get to work, and it got me there with no problems. I was able to start it up without problems later in the day when I had to go home. But when I was almost home at a stop light, the radio shut off for a few seconds, and warning lights were popping up all over the place. I was just a few feet from a gas station, so I pulled in. It seemed that giving gas to the car would turn the warning lights off.
There was an Autozone nearby, so I drove there. I had my battery charged and tested, and they said it was in good condition. I put it back in the car, and things started up fine, and I drove the rest of the night without any problems. So, I assumed it was just a battery problem, and that it was solved.
The next day, it happened again - when I'm in drive and accelerating, things seem fine. Once I let go of the gas pedal, the battery warning light pops up.
I was able to make it home, and I parked the car. I realized that when it's in park, no warning lights pop up, regardless of whether or not I'm stepping on the gas.
So, is this an alternator problem? Why does the battery warning pop up only when I'm in drive, but not park?
Also, I had my alternator replaced maybe 6 months ago, because it was fried. What could it be now? I never had this problem, even when the alternator was nearing death last time. I also had my distributor changed recently.
Thanks for any help!
Danny
