Default air/fuel guage???

i recently put a skunk2 intake manifold on my b16a that has a few mods. now my air/fuel meter is not working right. it was reading all the way lean and now it is reading all the way rich. any suggestions??? what fuel pressure should i be at. i have it set at 32.

unless its a wide band AF gauge, then its not worth trusting. those bouncing bar ones are crap. its probably come unhooked somewhere. and i think the fuel pressure should be in the neighborhood of 43psi. but where is your gauge mounted? it should be mounted on the fuel rail for a proper pressure reading.

the fpr is on the fuel rail. the air/fuel guage is an autometer autolite. would this air fuel make my check engine light com on steady, or is it because i just put the skunk2 intake manifold on?

is the light on? and props on putting the gauge on the rail, most people put them on the filter.

i put the intake manifold on monday and the light came on that night and yesterday. it hasnt came on today yet. it only comes on when im driving. i had to eliminate this thing that was on the top of the stock manifold that had a vaccum hose that went right behind the throttle body and a coolant piece that was right under the throttle body, it look like it just regulated coolant into the intake manifold. the skunk2 intake manifold did not have a place for these things. was that a bad idea to just not use them, or is that what i have to do to use the skunk2 intake?

no, you should be alright. i think the problem is something to do with the o2 sensor. if you tugged on the wrong wire or removed the sensor and touched the tip too much, it can trip a CEL. try pulling the code and see if its the o2 sensor. then get a voltage tester and check for continuity with all the wires. i pulled a wire loose inside of a loom when i was doing a clutch and it took me forever to figure out what was wrong. i just replaced the wire, then it worked fine.

Fuel pressure should be in the area of 32-43

my air/fuel guage is working now, but it shows that i am running lean after 3000 rpm. is this because of the intake manifold i put on?

quite possibly, the S2 manifold will flow better at high rpm, so that makes sense. try raising your fuel pressure a couple of psi. remember, a little rich is better than a little lean.

i bumped the fuel to 40 psi, and it is still running lean. when installing the s2 intake manifold i had to disconnect the battery. would that reset my vtech controller? could the vtech controller have something to do with the car running lean?
