Default Acceleration Issue: 95 civic

I have a cx hatchback with a d16z6 swap that has been having a strange acceleration problem. While accelerating it seems to stop getting fuel or something. I press the accelerator and it stops accelerating. I have to let off the gas and put back on. Im thinking either fuel pump or fuel rail but im not sure. any help would be much appreciated.

Im having the same issue with my 99 Civic EX, thought it might have been spark plugs causing the engine to misfire but thats not it. Let me know if you find the answer?

Have you checked your timing?
And CEL codes?

No codes for me, and it only happens in 2nd and 3rd gear occasionally if that makes a difference. Rolls through other gears just fine.

might be fuel/main relay(under driver panel) going in and out. had a 90 CRX Si d15b swap same problem. wouldn't do it with a little throttle and always in a "cruisin" gear (lower rpm) New relay and no cuttin' back. faulty grounds in past have caused similar issue. that's my 2 cents hope it helps

How exactly would one check to see if the grounds are good? Would it be something to check at the battery or at the relay panel? Also is there any way to check the relays theirself?
