Default 98 HX Dist. change question

I'm trying to find a good used Distributor right now, and I need to know some cross referencing details as far as parts, I found a 97 civic, not sure what sub model, but are most of these distributors the same, or do I need to find an HX specific part?

as for guts yes but as for the casing not unless it is vtec also
the bolt holes for a nonvtec dist. dont match on a vtec head.. and visa versa

whats wrong with yours?

ok here is the dizzy i bought this morning....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290336165050

I checked local used parts stores, they wanted 150 for a used part, I found one online "new" for 150, then I wen to a U pull it place, and all their civics are stripped down to nothing.

So i'm crossing my fingers with this one from ebay

Hope it works. I have a HX, I think I had to get a HX distributor (Hitachi model).

is this what your hitachi dizzy wiring harness looks like?

this is what the one on the hx I'm working on looks like, I looked last night before I made my choice, I guess there are two types of dist. that go on the hx.

It looks like the one in the bottom picture. I could never figure out why there was a difference between the TEC or the Hitachi model.
