98 Civic wiper problem
Hello All!
New to the forum and need some info/advice:
My sons 1998 LX has a wiper arm problem. The wipers do not always return to the correct rest position when turned off. This usuallyoccurs after they have been used and a strong wind is prevalent. We tried taking the arms off and repositioning........ but next use with strong wind and one, somtimes both, have changed psition. The small splines on motor assembly arm and in the wiper arm seem to be OK. What's the next course of action? Motor seems strong. Could the wiper assembly be out of wack or something is loose? Thanks in advance for any help or direction. Joe

RE: 98 Civic wiper problem
I had a similar problem that turned out to be a loose connector that wasn't making good electrical contact. Try disconnecting the 5P connector attached to the wiper motor and reconnecting it to ensure a tight connection. Also look for possible corrosion of contacts in the connectors. In addition, check whether the motor's ground wire connection may be loose or corroded.
