97 Civic Battery Fuse
The battery fuse in my 97 w/D16Y7 has blown due in part to me trying to put in a new battery in the dark with no flashlight. put it in backwards (idiot) the thing is I have never seen this type of fuse and no store in this isolated community i call home has either. I would like to know the correct term for the screw in box-like fuse that has blown on me, so that i can order a correct replacement from out of town.

RE: 97 Civic Battery Fuse
Nobody Knows? come one guys, help a poor Newb out. I'm only used to Domestic cars/trucks. I had a company send me a bullet style fuse after i asked for a 97 civic battery fuse, so they don't know anything. what would be the best way to word it or describe it?

Can you post a picture? The only fuse I see is under the hood which runs from the battery to the alternator. Its a 80 amp fuse. Did you ohm it out to see it really blown?Fuse usually protect from over current situations not from reversing polarity at the source.

RE: 97 Civic Battery Fuse
Can't get any pics tonight, but maybe tomorrow. It's the screw in style fuse that the positive battery cable goes right into. If the fusebox diagram is telling the truth, it is the battery fuse. Weird thing is, my brake lights work, but nothing else not the domelight, headlights, etc. it doesn't even try to crank. I haven't really given it much thought, the rest of the car took my attention away from it.
