95 honda civic, 1.6 v tech over heating
[>:]The radiator on my civic recently cracked from the top while I was parked (car running) spilling coolant everywhere. I replaced the radiator with a new one but still starts to over heat while parked (car running). I have yet to see it over heat while actually driving. The oil is not mixing with the coolant. So I assume the heads are okay. There is no leakage of anything to assume the water pump is out. So Im thinking its the thermostat or radiator fan (which is hesitant to start at times). Very frustrated.Need advice please!!!

RE: 95 honda civic, 1.6 v tech over heating
There is a two-wire thermoswitch on the thermostat housing that turns the radiator fan on if the temp gets too high. Also there is a two-wire ECT temp sensor for the ECU just below th distributor.
My fan wasn't really coming on at all on my 94 EX, so I replaced the thermoswitch. This got the fan to come on when it started to get hot, but it would still get warm while sitting still. So I replaced the ECT sensor and now it doesn't start to get warm at all.
