Exclamation 95 DX transmission or clutch?

Ok, so the other night i started my car and it was very difficult to get it in first. Eventually I got it in and started to pull out. I noticed the clutch was catching way closer to the floor, to the point where when I started the car it would start pulling forward as if I was riding the clutch or attempted to pull out. It continually got worse throughout the night and had to turn the car off to get it in first or reverse, but when moving it wasn't very difficult to change gears. So I was almost home, stopped at a stop sign and cut my car off to put it in first, pulled out and when I attempted to shift it would not go into gear at all, I had to cut the car off, put it in second, and turn it back on. I believe it is the clutch but being automotively retarded, I wouldn't know.

And another thing, the car idles very rough, to the point where I think it's going to die. I was told it may be the fuel filter. What could it be? I just bought the car for $1000 dollars, so I knew there would be issues. I just want to know for sure what the problems are before I have it fixed.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Sounds like your clutch cable/linkage. I would guess that something is loose or broken. I know 96 and on they have hydraulic clutches which need no adjustment. If yours is a cable operated clutch then there should be an adjustment on there somewhere.

As for running rough, when does it do it? do you have a check engine light? Anything else you can describe about the rough idle?

It's the D15B7 I'm not sure if it's hydro or cable.

As for the rough idle it only does it when I stop at a red light or something. It idles at like 500 and drops idle lower. It continues running. Barely.

Ok, it's a hydro transmission. There is no clutch fluid? My dad thinks the slave cylinder is leaking or something.

if you're leaking clutch fluid it wouldn't take long to pump the fluid out at which point your car will not shift.

Does the clutch pedal feel different now then before this started happening?

very. it feels like it doesn't have any resistance in the pedal.

If the fluid is full and the system has been bled of air, failure of the clutch to move means the clutch master cylinder is bad. Have someone push the pedal while you watch the lever on the transmission / slave cylinder and confirm it doesn't move.

I had a 95 DX, definitely hydraulic. I didn't know they used any cables after 1991.
