95 Civic sedan
I have a 95 civic that lost its spark. I had some issues with the distributor (oil in the cap twice.) I assumed that was the issue so I replaced the distributor. Everything was put back exactly how the old one was taken off. Still no spark...Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Norbster86: I do have power to the distributor, on both sides of the plug. so I assume it is the coil pack or ignition control modual or somthing like that.
Candyman206: I checked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood all are good.
mk378: Not tryin to be rude, but if the old one worked I wouldn't have changed it.

I thought you said it just had oil leaking into it. That generally won't kill the engine.
There will be no spark if the distributor doesn't rotate, such as will be the case with a stripped timing belt.
Like the other guy said, turn key on and don't crank watch for the CEL to come on then go out. That shows the ECU is powering up. If it does that put the test jumper on and see if there are any codes stored.

The CEL comes on and goes off. I did the jump test and the SRS light flashed it was no set amount of times it flashed over 100 times so i figured that was long enough and undid it. It lost spark about a year ago due to the oil leaking into the distributor. We changed the cap and rotor and everything and it fixed it. We lost it this time with the same problem. We changed it nothing. has to be the distributor. changed it. no spark still. battery's good. alternator good. power to the distributor. ECU power good. starter good. fuel good. no reason car shouldn't start. I have no idea.

Same problem...same lame posts!
I have the exact same problem. I have no spark but everything checks out. I replaced the coil and ICM...no luck. Plugs and wires too. I have done the diagnostics on all sensors...ECU checks out. I get fuel to all holes..
The problem started when I checked the compressions. I pulled all the plugs and then tested each hole by cranking the engine. Obviously I fried something by not letting the spark go anywhere.
Still....what the #&$ is left to replace...change...test???
The discouraging thing is that this no spark condition is well posted...no cel...everything ohms out correctly...but I have seen no "ahh ha" solutions.
Surely someone must know what to do!
