Default 95 civic overheating please help!

ok so i have a 95 honda civic ex thats overheating. At first the temp went all the way to the red zone and after changing a couple of sensors and getting a new thermostat it still overheats to about 3/4 of the way before the meter gauge didnt even move :/. also when i drive it all the antifreeze is pushed back to the reserve tank and starts boiling making it spill out none comes out the radiator itself just the reserve/overflow tank. can somebody please tell me whats up please?

Excessive coolant entering the overflow is either the radiator cap is failing, or you blew the Head gasket.

Since you overheated the car up to the "Red zone", you popped the Head gasket causing excessive air to enter the system. Another thing you can check is the oil to see any coolant is mixed in there. Same when draining the coolant (check if oil is mixed in). It will look like a milky, chocolate brown color.

A compression and/or leak down test can confirm a blown HG, too.

damn if its a blown head gasket its gonna suck for me, someone else told me it might be happening because i didnt purge the system right when i changed the thermostat and air entered the system. but thank you very much for your answer i will check that this weekend.
