94 Honda Dx Tach/Speedo problem

Yea, it does. I looked at another thread asking about it. However, their Odo worked when their speedo didnt. On mine, both work or both are dead. I though it was the signal being sent. (since they were hooked up on the same signal.)

O my Civic... Its godly now. I just got back from taking it on a test run after the Igniter replacement. Beautiful. She didn't a problem. The CEL light still came on, and quick too. but I havent reset the ECU yet. The RPM is right now. The speedo is better. It didn't have a 'work then not work' session. I think she is on the road to recovery... LOL... Thanks alot Ron!! I owe you a big, ol steaming heap of Honda goodness. I feel a lot better now.

That's great. Reset the ECU by removing the 7.5A BACKUP fuse under the hood for about 1 minute. Run the car and, if the CEL returns, pull the code. My guess would be that it is the O2 sensor code.
Not sure that sounds so good.

Thanks a bunch. LOL. Now that I think about it, it truely doesnt sound good. The car has been starting fine recently. I havent cleared the ECU yet. I had a time or two where it started acting up again, but it is sooo much better. Now I can improve it, instead of attempting to keep it up to par.

Well, I have some bad news. I found out a few weeks ago that the head gasket blew *again.* I have decided to do a swap instead of re-redoing the head gasket. I have a D16z6 engine and tranny from a 93 Civic Ex. Is there anything I need to do for the V-tec wiring? I am going to use the D16's wiring harness, plus the ecu from the 93. I am currently pulling the engine from the 93. All I have left is to lift up. Is there something special I need to do? thanks in advance.

Yes. I have taken both the Ecu and the harness that is already attached to the '93 with the engine. I have everything unbolted and unhooked. All I need to do now is lift the engine out of the donor. Is there anything else? I was reading about the V-Tec pens that connect to the ecu. I dont have to worry about that, right? since I have the original wiring harness?
