94 Civic EX airbag light stays on

94 Civic EX airbag light stays on
I replaced the wiper switch/turn signal switch combo. To do so, I had to remove the steering wheel and Airbag, and airbag cable assembly. I followed all the instructions in my manual, on recentering the cable, line up of yellow tooth, etc. when I finished the assembly, and started the car, the SRS light stayed on. It has never been on before. I then pulled the backup fuse to clear the ECU codes. Same result.
So, what stupid little procedure have I overlooked. I am major-league frustrated. I almost get physically ill at the thought of having to go to a dealer to get this light to go off. i suspect there is some silly little procedure I've overlooked, since the light never stayed on before I replaced my switch. Any help would be very gratefully appreciated!

Check for blown SRS fuse #25 under the dash.
If the fuse is fine, then try disconnecting the battery, first the -cable and then +cable. Wait one minute and reconnect. I don't think SRS codes are stored in ECU.
Did you already double check that you reconnected all the SRS connectors?

I am positive I've got all connectors in properly. I redid it 4 times.
I'll check the #25 fuse. Thanks all for responding.
Any other ideas welcome.
I'll get back to you on my results.
Cheers!
