Default 94 civic engine identification

I purchased my first honda 2 days ago a 1994 honda civic, but im having trouble identifying what motor it has. The car lot repainted the car and i dont know if they took off the decals or what but theres no dx, ex or lx symbols. The car is a 1994 honda civic 2 door 5 speed coupe. The top of the motor says 16 valve honda. It starts out ok at low rpm but at about midrange it hauls azz. I was hopeing to find out the engine type so i could tell if it was worth modifying or just getting a different motor. hopefully u guys can help me out. One last note there is a sticker indicating it was manufatured in canada and i read that it might have a different motor im just not sure.

Should say on the block of the engine. D15b7 D16Z6 something along those lines... Find that and come back here.

Well it has 102 horsepower stock. Lots of people on the forum have boosted D's. If you want performance I would say go turbo. But an intake and exhaust would make it more fun to drive.

Only if you are a better driver than the other person. You could also do a mini me swap. That would be fun!
