94 Civc Starting Problem
i searched for similar threads but couldn't quite find the exact same symptoms my car has. one day it started clicking when i turned the key, i waited a few moments and tried again, and it started right up. the next day all i had was clicking, very rapid clicking. my car has power, the stereo, lights, etc all work. the engine doesn't turn over. i think its a starter connection problem. someone told me about "popping" the starter or taking a screwdriver and fixing a brush maybe. just wanted some other ideas, opinions. thx.

RE: 94 Civc Starting Problem
probably the battery. check and clean the cables at the battery and the battery posts.
if you still have it, take battery to like autozone - got 200 some odd dollar battery checker. check battery.
if you cannot get there, and have voltmeter, see if you have 12.5 to 13.5 volts.
if battery is ok, then have to look at starter.
can have lights, etc - but it may still be the battery

RE: 94 Civc Starting Problem
I had that EXACT problem one night. The car was running perfect, I went into a store for 5 minutes, came back out, started the car, but all she did was go, click, click, click, click really fast. I checked the connections on my battery and they were fine. I waited a couple of minutes and then tried to start her again and she started!! BUT WATCH OUT, after I had her started, I was going back home and she was dieing while driving, the lights were dimming, stereo not working sh*t like that. The next day I inspected the charging system and my drive belt was slipping!! The alternator wasnt charging the battery and the battery was low on juice. I put a new belt on, after charging the battery, and voila, never had the problem since. I let her idle for about 20 minutes before I even took her anywhere, just to make sure the battery had juice and retained its charge, then went on. As a precaution, DO clean the terminals and make sure your connections are tight on the terminals. Make sure your connectors on the alternator are puched in all the way and hopefully you should be fine.
