93 civic swapped b18c1 in it
I keep getting a check engine light when my vtec kicks in at 5750 but when I shut the car off it goes away until I get up to 5750 again ive tried jumping it but the codes go away once its shut off and ive tried jumping it once it turns on while the car is running idk what to do. I have a chipped p30 ecu

It's probably the VTEC code. Make sure the solenoid and switch are wired properly. When you hit the engagement rpm the ECU energizes the solenoid and checks if the switch closes (or opens?) due to oil pressure in the VTEC circuit. If oil pressure is inadequate the switch doesn't make and the ECU cancels the VTEC, turning on CEL and entering "limp" mode until the next time the engine is started.
This pressure activated action brings up another point, the whole reason for the switch is to make sure the VTEC doesn't engage halfway due to inadequate oil pressure. On a D-series anyway, when swapping a VTEC head onto a non-VTEC block, the oil restrictor needs to be removed from the oil hole in the top of the block to deliver full oil flow to the head.
Not storing codes with the key off is likely because the ECU is not receiving constant battery voltage on the wire from the "BACK UP" fuse. (This circuit also goes to the radio and it is common to blow the fuse when messing with the radio wiring.) With a chipped ECU though I don't know; by definition it is not stock.
