92 Civic DX Hatch 5speed, car will slightly rev then die down wen car is not moving, but thee noise stops wen i turn the wheel left or right, about same time noise began car is losing power, wen i first turn it on smoke usually shoots out my exhaust and then the car runs almost with no lag until the heat gage gets to half way which is after about 5minutes of driving, wen accelerating it bucks slightly and feels like its trying to get up to speed but takes much longer than wen i got it, it feels as tho sumthing is clogged? im not really sure wat the problem is but its very anoying and frustrating...could it be the fuel pump? or idk if this even matters but it does not have a gas cap on it, or cud it be a vacuum leak? or even sumthig to do with my engine coolant? im confused and cud really use some help, thanks.

also could it be the cat converter? is their a good method for cleaning it out (if its not broken that is) ?

 

First off the lack of a gas cap does a lot of things. 1) It allows junk to get into your tank, even if it's not much at a time (not to mention water) it does add up. Plus there are some pressure issues (or lack of) that happen without the cap on so get a fuel cap and a bottle of heat or seafoam and put it into the fuel tank right away

2)What color is the smoke?

3) What maintenance has been done to the car and how long ago was it done?

 

and without a gas cap you are basically a Moltov cocktail on wheels....

 

Smoke is grey...SeaFome did nothing, and new gas cap did nothing...car is still idleing weird and still losing power...also wen I'm in the car driving wen I accelerate I hear wat sounds like a hiss...I'm thinkn this is a vacuum leak, what is the best method to finding and fixing one if that is infact the problem?
