Default 92 Civic AC install. Instructions?

I have a 92 civic and would like to install a used ac system from a 95 civic. Does anyone know if there are Honda instructions floating around to install this system. It was an option in 1992.

Thank you

I'm in the process in searching and replacing the AC system in my newly acquired 95 hatch. Currently, it has an aftermarket one that doesn't work that was hacked in. I probably have to take picture another car to get a good ideal how it's hooked up.

If possible, park next to the parts car and take each part off right before putting it on your car. There are a bunch of little brackets, clips, etc. that might get forgotten if you strip the car and put everything in a box instead.

Buy an assortment of o-rings and replace every o-ring on connections that were taken apart. Use the (usually) green HNBR ones that are suitable for R-134a. Change the oil in the compressor if it has been left open. The PAG oil absorbs moisture from the air and deteriorates.

Also do not reuse the receiver-drier, buy a new one. The old one can be used to close the system to check for leaks but do not run the compressor with it. Right before the final evacuate and charge, put the new drier on.

Can I sugges that you don't install AC unless you reallty need it? AC uses petrol that is on it's way from the fuel tank, to the engine. This means less petrol to your engine and lower gas mileage.

it depends on where twotonetommy lives. in some parts around here, it's extremely muggy and hot during the summer months making the 1 mpg loss in using A/C extremely worthwhile since you'll be drier, cooler, and more alert driving. also, he can install it and choose not to run it until it gets very hot and humid.

Technically the A/C uses horsepower from the engine, not gas directly from the tank. The result is the same though: lower mileage.

But surely in order to use horsepower from the engine, it does this by taking "gas" from the tank.

Yes, it does lower your mpg but it sometimes necessary to have some comfort when its hot. I even used my AC when its cold and rainyto clear my foggy windows. It much quicker that to use only heat.
