Default 90 Civic si hatch starting problems

i have a 90 civic hatch i bought about 8 months ago. bought it over the summer, it ran fine, started first try strong. it started getting cold, and when i mean cold like 30s and 40's. it started to have problems. it will start up rev up to 6 or 700 rpms and then die. this will happen 3 to 4 times before it will actually start up and run. typically from there it runs fine( i had it turn off one day on an exit ramp a few weeks ago) it seems to help if i get in dont push in the clutch and bump it in the the start postition a few times, then push in the clutch and start it. i think it might be a weak fuel pump or ignition switch. it happened on a warm day to. and its not just when it has sat over night. although when it sat for a week the battery died. i can drive it for an hour or 2 straight pull over get gas and it wont start first try. any ideas?

Carbureted or dpfi system? Is the LED of the ECU blinking a code?

When the engine won't start, listen for whether the fuel pump primes for 2 seconds and check for spark at the plugs.

When it dies, do the battery and oil lights on the dash come on? If not it's probably the key switch.

If one or more codes are set, the LED will blink them out constantly with the key on (II) whether the engine is running or not. So you have no codes set.
