Default '89 Si cranks but won't turn over....

I've been borrowing a car while mine was in the body shop and last night the battery died so the car was totally dead. When I hooked up jumper cables the corner lights flashed off and on as if the hazard lights were activated but they were turned off. All the car would do is crank but not turn over.

I swapped out the main relay this morning as it sounded like it was clicking off and on and now the hazard light effect is gone but the car still won't turn over. I think I can hear the fuel pump prime when the key is turned on but other then that I'm stumped.

I've read in the archives the distributor can go on these cars; does that sound reasonable or given the weird light show perhaps the ECU fried itself.

Thanks in advance. I'm not a Honda expert by any means but if anyone has 3rd gen 4Runner or E36 M3 questions feel free to let me know.

It is possible to cause your ecm harm if you connected the battery cables straight to both batteries, I've actually seen this happen. First I would check to see if your getting any spark through your plugs and see if your getting fuel to your engine and go from there.

check for possible car alarm of sorts.
