Unhappy 89 Civic EF Si, No Spark Please help!

So my ignition switch went out so i replaced it. After about a week it died on me and hasnt started since. we did the "screw driver" trick and no spark, even took out a spark plug and still no spark. We replaced the cap and rotor, wires are fairly new. the next step is to replace the distributor but dont want to replace it until i know 100% it is the dis. Can there be a way to tell its the distributor or if some other component??

Any CEL codes? Does the fuel pump also fail to prime?

If spark is the only problem and there are no CEL codes, then the problem is likely a bad coil and/or igniter unit, or the timing belt has snapped.

Generally, the distributor should be replaced when it has 150K miles. If yours has this or higher mileage, replace the entire distributor with an OEM one. If it has less mileage, test the coil and igniter unit.

Also check that the Blk/Yel wire attached to the coil has battery voltage with the key in ON(II).

yea, im pretty sure thats the original dist, and the odo reading 201k would probably give us the answer right there but ill check the wire. either way i think we can both agree its time for a new dist. lol thanks again dude!!
