I was having problems moving the stick shift through reverse. I fooled with it a bit and assumed the cable needed replaced. No problem, right...well I have the part but can't figure out how it comes off at the transmission side of the cable. I removed the little cover but still cannot see where it attaches to the tranny. I was assuming that this cable could be replaced without opening the transmission case, anyone know??? Also newby, any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

 

So anyone out there ever replace an automatic transmission cable on these civics???

 

yea there is a cover you remove the the cable goes into the there is a bolt the holds cable, here is a link to the manuals and then download it and look at the pics,
