86 civic hatchback has no spark

Default 86 civic hatchback has no spark

I have a no spark condition i have tried a new distrubitor because i found a ignitor test online and i have returned 4 dist to 2 different vendors and i cannot determine if i have preformed the right tests .. does anyone know the ignition tests for a 86 civic with a carb and automatic thanks

First, realize that if the timing belt is stripped, distributor won't rotate, and no sparks will fire.

The electrics are real simple. Power from the ignition switch and fuse arrives on the yellow-black wires. Check that the igniter and the coil get power when the key is on, and while cranking. Have you tried changing the coil?

I have a new dist, and coil with the tests i found for the ignitor they r bad .. in the new dist . red wire of the dvom on where the blk/y wire goes and the com on where the blue wire goes and it has coninuty

i have found my problem it was a broken cam shaft replaced it all good now .. and the ignitor tests i found r wrong so i was mislead for awhile '
